LEMANAK RIVER LONGHOUSE VISIT (3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS)
Kuching – Lemanak River (L,D)
Pick up from hotel 0845-9000hrs - Depart by air-conditioned van for Lemanak river (4 hours). Journey through rural Sarawak, passing pepper gardens, cocoa and rubber plantation, rice fields and oil palm groves. A few stops will be made along the way. Visit the colorful native market in Serian town where a variety of jungle produce such as edible ferns, bamboo shoots and unusual tropical fruit are on display. Visit a pepper garden and stop by to view wild orchids and several species of pitcher plants. Lunch en route. A native longboat awaits you at the river for an hour boat journey through tropical rain forest to reach the longhouse, home of the Iban tribe. Relax on the ruai (common verandah) and spend time with the Iban people. Learn about their culture and enjoy some local rice wine. Overnight stay.
Lemanak River Longhouse (B,L,D)
Full day of activities around the longhouse and in the jungle. The programme for this day is flexible. You can discuss and get advice from your guide
about the possibilities which include jungle trekking or following the locals in their farming activities. Overnight stay.
Lemanak River – Kuching (B, L)
After breakfast, witness a cockfighting and blowpipe demonstration. Depart down river by longboat then continue by van.
Lunch en route. Proceed to Kuching and drop off at your Hotel.
BAKO NATIONAL PARK (2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT)
Kuching - Bako National Park (L,D)
At 0830hrs - Meet for 35 minute drive to the jetty followed by a 25-minute boat ride to the park. Bako is one of the best places in Sarawak to see wildlife in a natural surrounding. The various types of animals that are commonly spotted at Bako include the proboscis monkeys - a primate to be found only in Borneo, silver leaf monkeys, long tail macaques, wild boars, monitor lizards and numerous species of birds. Tropical rainforest ranges from mangrove to kerangas (heath forest), tropical swamp vegetation, cliff vegetation and beach vegetation. There are several hiking trails inside the park depending on level of fitness and interest. These range from 1 hour to all-day treks. Overnight at park lodge.

Return to Kuching (B,L)
Following breakfast, one last hike to the mangrove forest for bird watching and to search for proboscis monkeys. Return to Kuching in the early afternoon (Schedule may depend on tide) then drop off at hotel.
